It could be argued that many games of rugby league hinge on just a few key moments: a dropped ball with the line wide open, a field goal that hits the crossbar (I’m talking to you Benny Elias), or according to most fans, a refereeing decision or two, or three.

They did make a grand final last year
Where to now for Parramatta? After finishing well short of expectations, Eels need to add element of unpredictability
The thought of the Roosters beating the Rabbitohs but them both missing out warms my heart.
NRL final round equation: The best and worst outcomes for each team as five teams fight for last three playoff berths
Possibly, pushing Averillo to a wing. Fuller’s height could be an issue but I don’t remember it hampering Matty Bowen
'I’m p--sed off that people aren’t doing their jobs properly': Ricky Stuart gives refs both barrels in epic press conference spray
No one is suggesting parity of investment, just some investment. Each of those 2,500 is a family that become a rugby daily or a league family etc.

Damn, he’s probably still quicker than Frawley 😛
Round 26 Talking Points: JWH, Ricky and a few others a bit 'tired and emotional' as pressure of finals race hits boiling point
I think the Broncs should have nabbed top spot particularly with the Panthers’ 6 getting injured. Plus the Bunnies are at 7 more out of bloody mindedness than anything else. Also the Dragons have put up enough fight to jump the Dogs
NRL Power Rankings: Top two, bottom six forms up as finals logjam enters last weekend
No, I was home nursing a busted knee. Not the most defensive game of all time.

Nat has definitely been here all along. You are sounding ridiculous Steveng

It’s tough. I have the same issue with The Dolphins. Bennett brings a lot as a coach, but the press conferences are excruciating

I guess our experiences are different. In mine women were encouraged to take home economics, etc. they did play sport which for us was strictly tennis, netball or hockey and very much amateur
Australian women calling for real change in football should start it by turning up to A-League matches
While I agree with the broad premise of your article, gee that first part was pretty condescending stuff. How did you first learn about the nuances of your sport? Did you grow up in a football household? Did your school have teams? Did you join a club at a young age? Would your daughters be so knowledgeable if they hadn’t been raised in it by you? Many women, particularly over say 30 years old got no opportunities at all to be involved in sport.
At some point you would have watched and played your first game and you would have had no idea what was going on, unless you miraculously emerged from the womb as a “true fan”.
I think you should have turned around and educated these poor souls as to how to properly watch the game. I’m sure they would appreciated it.

Good list. Two I would add from QLD as underrated would be Capewell from Brisbane and Jeremy Marshall-King for the Dolphins.
The NRL's 'silent squad': 2023's most undervalued players
Australians are not whingers until they perceive an injustice or someone whinges about them, then they return fire with both barrels
Sticking it to the mother country: England can beat Australia at rugby and football ... but what about every other sport?
Thanks
Queensland to celebrate Matildas' legacy with funding boost - but most of it is already going to Rugby and AFL
Love it, thanks

England are also well ahead in moral victories and feel as though we won victories. They also come out on top in simultaneously defining The Spirit in their sports while also celebrating their mastery of The Dark Arts.
But in terms of whinging , it’s a dead heat 😂

That is not necessarily a bad thing. The problems start when it leaks to the media
'I've worked really hard to get grubby stuff out of my game': Latrell returns serve to critics after 'brain snap'
I agree. The problem is we build players up too much and then tear them down when they aren’t Wally Lewis every week. Even Wally Lewis wasn’t Wally Lewis every single week
'I've worked really hard to get grubby stuff out of my game': Latrell returns serve to critics after 'brain snap'
The gap between his best and worst is high and that’s a risk that some clubs will take and some won’t. But there is no one better in full flight. I’d like to see him return to centre, where he doesn’t have to do as much work and can select when to produce the moments

Surely Wighton is too old to cover fullback. I though centre was the place

Because until this generation there has really only been men’s sport for them to follow.
RA's 'devastating, no substance' response to Wallaroos shows exactly why rugby is being left behind
No but you can. It’s an interesting parallel actually. The sport is basically broke so they are struggling to fund the women’s game. Sounds similar

Better than not making them
