Thanks very much for your opinion article, Michael.
Coaches’ frustrations at refereeing decisions remind me of Geoff Toovey exclaiming, “Oh come on, come on! That’s ridiculous! There’s gotta be an investigation into this!!”
It’s nice to see the Knights turning things around and doing so well. McDonalds Jones stadium packed with a raucous home crowd is like a 14th player for the Knights.

Round 26 Talking Points: JWH, Ricky and a few others a bit 'tired and emotional' as pressure of finals race hits boiling point

This FIBA world cup has had some entertaining games so far. Some were more competitive than the final score suggests (e.g. Tall Blacks’ loss to the USA).
Looking forward to the other games coming up. Japan vs Finland at the moment is a fantastic spectacle.

Slip-up against Germany could prove costly as Boomers stumble in World Cup nail-biter

This was a tight contest. From what I remember, it was 81-81 with one minute remaining.
The game was great to watch, both teams played well. It was the sort of game where either team could have won.
Congratulations to Germany and a good win, Dennis Shroder was superb.
Commiserations to the Boomers. They played well, Patty Mills was great as usual, but just got pipped at the last minute.
Both teams should be commended on a wonderful game.

You’re right $25 is the minimum for Stan sport, and the maximum is $36 for maximum devices and 4K UHD (“Stan Sport Premium”).
When I signed on for Stan sport the price was $29 per month for the maximum devices and optimal resolution. They’ve had two price increases since then, so now Stan Sport Premium is $36 per month.

'Not good enough': England in disarray as Fiji pull off historic win to emerge as World Cup's darkest horse

Are you in Australia? Stan sport streams the RWC. It’s expensive though, about $40 per month.

'Not good enough': England in disarray as Fiji pull off historic win to emerge as World Cup's darkest horse

I’m getting the rugby through Stan sport….had to get the entertainment subscription with the sport subscription as an add-on. Basically paying almost $40 just to watch rugby.

For some reason the streaming kept freezing on the Japan vs Italy match. So I’ve switched to the Georgia vs Scotland match.

After watching the Fiji vs England match, straight to Japan vs Italy. I’ll watch Georgia vs Scotland on replay. No spoilers please 😊

'Not good enough': England in disarray as Fiji pull off historic win to emerge as World Cup's darkest horse

Congratulations on a fantastic win to Fiji 😊 Their supporters at Twickenham looked so proud and happy.
It was a superb performance by Fiji in wet weather conditions, especially considering they had a yellow card and still outscored England while a man down.
Commiserations to England. Hopefully they can improve for the world cup.

I won’t rehash the comments I posted on the live blog of the All Blacks vs Springboks match, only to repeat my congratulations to South Africa.
I’m excited for this RWC, it’s going to be tightly contested by many teams. Hope all the teams enjoy the tournament and play well. Go the All Blacks!

Sorry to hijack this comments section, but I just finished watching the Fiji vs England match and want to acknowledge Fiji’s fantastic historic win at Twickenham 😊
Congratulations, Fiji!! It was a superb performance in wet weather conditions.
Fiji did very well to absorb all the pressure and outscore England while Fiji had a yellow card.
Commiserations to England. Hopefully the English fans and pundits continue to support their team without expressing their disappointment via personal abuse at the players and coaching staff.

Good luck to Jarome, hope his shoulder rehabilitation goes well. The Panthers will miss him, but the depth of their squad will give them the confidence to go deep in the finals.

I think it’s very nice of Hansen to help out for a couple of weeks. I hope the brief time he spends with the Wallabies is a positive experience. The presence and insight of a world cup winning coach could be inspiring to the squad, especially for those less experienced.
The issues with rugby in Australia will take more than a couple of weeks to sort out. But this gesture of support from a traditional rival is hopefully a morale booster for the Wallabies squad. Good on Steve Hansen, and good luck to the Wallabies.

Thanks for your article, Stuart. I think it’s a bit harsh on the Sharks, they are a quality team.
It’s fair enough that reporters, analysts and fans have high expectations of each team. But the NRL is a tough and long competition; I don’t think any team should be taken lightly.
Certainly, the top teams will expect to play well against lower ranked teams. But even teams at the bottom of the ladder have had good games, though have been unable to sustain consistently good performances. No win should be taken for granted; there are few teams in the NRL that are easy-beats.

Sharks' ruthless efficiency against minnows doesn't give them a hope in finals when there's bigger fish to fry

Well done, Tigers. That was a morale boosting win. Happy for the Tigers fans who turned up to support their team.
Hard luck, Dolphins. Trai had a very good debut game.

RIP, Kyle. This is such a sad loss. Condolences to Kyle’s family and friends.

Good luck, Suli. It’s an honour to play at a world cup. I hope you enjoy the tournament and do well.

Doubts of a Wallaby: The maligned cross-code star who fought through tears to make Eddie's RWC campaign

Hi Rocky, thanks for your comment. I much prefer the Aotearoa Rugby Pod to The Breakdown, although I do watch both.
I’m very excited to watch this RWC. I’ve enjoyed watching the warm-up international matches available, although I would’ve liked availability for all matches of other teams such as Georgia, Uruguay, Chile, Japan, Fiji, Tonga, Samoa, Portugal, Namibia etc.
I hope the All Blacks do well and play as best they can. This RWC is going to be a tough, hard fought tournament with many contenders who can win.

Kiwi View: All Blacks fans finally tuning in to RWC threats - should they pay more attention to a dark horse in blue?

Thanks for your article, Will. Also appreciate your work on the Gits & Genia pod, and your insights as a guest on the Aotearoa Rugby Pod.

WILL GENIA: Why Eddie had to choose between Nic and Quade, moment I felt Hoops was done, hardest done by duo

Thanks for your analysis, Mike.
Commiserations to the Eels. If it’s any consolation, you wouldn’t be the first team to experience the dizzying heights of a grand final one year, only to tumble out of finals contention the next year.
Well done, Roosters! Great win – you’re still in this.

ANALYSIS: Roosters overcome Tedesco head knock to keep Finals dream alive - and all but end Parramatta's season

Thanks for your analysis, Mike.
That was a ding dong match. Well done to the Warriors, they had to work hard for the win.
Commiserations to Manly. They fought hard to keep their season alive.
Renaming Go Media Stadium as Daniel Anderson Stadium for this round was a nice touch. The Warriors have some great items up for auction in support of the Daniel Anderson Fund:
https://www.warriors.kiwi/news/2023/08/15/supporting-daniel-anderson-fund/
As well as the opportunity to donate, there are some exciting packages available. If I had the money, I would’ve bid on 4 of the items!
Very classy of notable coaches and stars from other sports to take part in the Warriors’ fundraising efforts. Thanks to all involved.

ANALYSIS: Seibold 'p--ssed off' at Bunker decision that ends Manly's season - and secures Warriors top four

Thanks for your analysis, Mike. It was very nice of the Wests Tigers to take their home game to Hamilton as a gesture of thanks to the Warriors for their struggle during the pandemic years.
What an amazing crowd!! It was really fun to watch their enthusiasm.
The Warriors haven’t played well in wet weather conditions this year, so it’s a relief for them to come away with this win. It shows good team character to win despite not playing as well as they have previously.
Credit to Wests Tigers; they really challenged the Warriors tonight and have been improving.

ANALYSIS: Warriors grip on top four tightens with Tigers win - and Sheens fires up over bumper bars

Thanks for your analysis, Mike. I thought the Dragons could feel hard done by with a dodgy bunker decision that swung momentum to Souths’ favour. Souths will feel relieved with the win, but they need a lot of work to challenge teams higher on the ladder.

ANALYSIS: Souths bludge their way to Dragons win - but on this showing, put the line through them
